    Wallpaper Set 1

My white Macbook is a little over three years old now–Apple doesn’t even sell this model anymore–and yet, this laptop still works astoundingly. Overtime, I’ve collected a hefty sum of wallpapers for it. Here are some of my favorites. Nothing in this collection is too distracting, and most work very well as a desktop background. Some are nostalgic and others are fun to look at. Just click on any of the images, and you’ll get a full-resolution file!

“I Feel Fantastic” by Jonathan Coulton

This is probably my longest video project yet, taking around three months of on and off work to complete. And now it’s done! Heh, it makes me giddy to finally put it up. I suggest you watch it on youtube in HD. Well, like it or hate it, be sure to enjoy it.

Song is “I Feel Fantastic” by Jonathan Coulton. Video was made in Adobe After Effects.

I suggest going to http://www.jonathancoulton.com/ to check out his awesome music. There are some free downloads there too. Really, check it out.

    I Went Ice Climbing!

    …and all I got were these pictures and a t-shirt. No really, I got a t-shirt!

So I woke up around 6am and walked my way to the subway with a duffel bag. And then two hours later, there I was, in those pictures above.

Ice Climbing is basically taking two ice picks, strapping them on, taking a pair of boots, and strapping spikes on those too, and then climbing up a wall of ice. While that may seem a bit simple, it really is on the outside.

We went a little north of Seoul, I think, and entered a building that in no way resembled an ice climbing zone. Then I saw this giant metal door and looked inside. There was a massive refrigerator inside the facility. It kind of shocked me at first, I never expected for it to be so cold.

    I Feel Fantastic Preview #2

I get up early when the sleeping pill wakes me
I take a wake up pill and fill with energy
I power on hard and I check my messages
But I don’t have any messages
I take a driving pill and head to my car
I drive around a bit cuz work isn’t very far
I call my phone and I check my messages
But I don’t have any messages

All I know is driving on drugs feels better when they’re prescription
All I know is the world looks beautiful, the world looks so damn beautiful

    I feel fantastic
And I never felt as good as how I do right now
Except for maybe when I think of how I felt that day
When I felt the way that I do right now, right now.
    I feel fantastic
And I never felt as good as how I do right now
Except for maybe when I think of how I felt that day
When I felt the way that I do right now, right now, right now.

    – Jonathan Coulton

    Film Festival-ing!

Made by yours truly. It’s a clip from a video for the film festival we’re having at school. The song is “I Feel Fantastic” by Jonathan Coulton. Enjoy 16 seconds-ish of it! I really suggest going to YouTube and actually watching it there in 720p, it’d a look much nicer that way.

As hard as it may be to believe, making sixteen seconds of this video took me several hours to make. Every hour I spend working on this video, I get around two to three seconds. Boo. Kinetic typography videos are such time-sucking monsters.

Of course, the final version is of way higher quality and is three minutes long. But that’ll come out around the beginning of March. Let’s go for gold, I say!

    Alfred, my computer needs shining.

    Alfred, for the mac!

Of course, I’m not talking about Batman’s butler, but instead about Alfred, a productivity application.

“Alfred is a productivity application for Mac OS X, which aims to save you time in searching your local computer and the web. Whether it’s maps, Amazon, eBay, Wikipedia, you can feed your web addiction quicker than ever before.”

Now what this program does is give you a little box for you to type into. It takes in what you’ve typed and returns results based on the text. Programs like these are often used as application launchers, because you can just type in a partial name of an app, and it’ll return the result instantly for you to open. Say I wanted to open iMovie. I’d start by typing in “im” and it’d return with instant results listing different items. (or in this case, one)

It’s a terribly useful program in the fact that it’s a great improvement on the usability of Spotlight, the search bar at the top right of every mac screen. In the end, it’s basically the same thing, but snappier and with a ton more features.

Chairs (of which one needs repair) of a sidewa...

An old story of mine, just reedited. Hopefully enjoyable.

    Part 1! – Part 2! Part 3!

Waking up after the Earth had once again cycled through one one-millionth of its solar cycle, Jack slowly opened his eyes. And–oh look! It was the chair.

He screamed again, but this time out loud. He then attempted to kick down the chair, but pulled back as he couldn’t bear to be within ten feet of that monstrosity.

Over the next day or two, Jack wasn’t exactly sure what was happening. What he didn’t know is that he had been unconscious every minute and awake for half of the next. When he was a awake, he screamed, quickly lifted his head up, and then promptly hit his head on a pipe hanging right above him.

This process continued until Jack decided to roll out of the situation. Literally. He wasn’t sure why, but it was most likely due to the bumps on his head which really started to hurt.

An old story of mine, just reedited. Hopefully enjoyable.

    Part 1!Part 2! Part 3!

A ladder hung down from the airlock entrance at the surface. Ten feet down from the lock was the table and two feet to the right of that was the couch. The air was musty and the walls looked and felt like concrete. Jack was alone in a hole 50 kilometers from the nearest volcano. The nearest town was a two-hour-long plane ride away.

Adjacent from the table was another table that had a computer. One of those com-pu-tat-ion-al laptops from that fruit company. On top of the laptop was an apple that  Jack had taken a bite of several hours ago.

The reason for there being a laptop in his bunker home was because Jack had won a lawsuit against a certain fruit company several years before. He brought that company down to its knees and gave it quite a slashing with his legal mumbo-jumbo. Of course, he hadn’t won a single case since he moved away to Iceland.
